I am a happy individual and I LOVE life. Some people say that I am too passionate about the things that are dear to me but I say..."Hey! You only live once!" I love to write about very simple things like the people and things that I have observed, childhood and teenage memories, about love and marriage etc. I am also into quite alot of poetry writing these days. Enjoy reading my fellow readers and fans. ;)

Shama's First Day of Fasting

Today's the first day that Shama has started fasting
she has never fasted before...in her life never ever!!
There will definitely be challenges that face her
but she I know has a strong will power

The month of Ramadan is for one to be pure
of the mind and body, one has to be sure
you must never fast if you feel compelled
you must do it willingly and then you can fast well

Her fasting is from sun rise to sun set
she'll follow the rules you bet!
Adamant Shama is to go the whole way
for the next thirty long days

Food is not her issue but water she has to have
but throughout today she didn't want to drink
and think about that
she's carried out her fast without cheating
she's held on so far and it's amazing
for someone who's never done anything worthy before
fasting to Shama is NOT a chore

She wants to do it willingly with a smile
she knows her husband will also start fasting in awhile
when it 's time to break her fast she won't be a glutton
for everything is done in moderation

Shama wants her husband to know

that she's fasting with him
though they're far apart fasting connects them
because only this way their souls are consummated
she's honoured and proud to have decided
to fast with her husband to whom she's so devoted
she loves him alot so she tries her best
to adopt his religion, his culture and all the rest
all so that she'll feel closer to him and more
the man she loves, honours and adores.

I assume that Shama is a new convert. Good luck to her completing her month long fast.

She even changed her religion for her husband. She must love him so much. It takes alot of love to do such a thing like that when you've been in another culture and religion for a long time.

Neneps! You are so versatile. You can write a poem about anything!! Even if it is about fasting. Smart lady.
