I am a happy individual and I LOVE life. Some people say that I am too passionate about the things that are dear to me but I say..."Hey! You only live once!" I love to write about very simple things like the people and things that I have observed, childhood and teenage memories, about love and marriage etc. I am also into quite alot of poetry writing these days. Enjoy reading my fellow readers and fans. ;)

The Sacrifice

I'm just an ordinary man
I try to do what I can
I now have to work two jobs
and so I have to really slog

It's my responsibility and duty
to finance her education completely
it's all for my dear daughter
it's all for her bright future

A single parent I am
I too have my hopes and dreams
to be with my lover...
to marry her
to live a happy life just us together

But for now my dreams I must put aside
I have to call it a SACRIFICE
until my girls complete their studies
until everything I have to do is finished

I do love her this woman...she's my life
for in my mind she's already my wife
nothing will change my love for her
not even distance, time or challenges that come after

If only she knew what I'm going through
So much I am missing her and feel life's unfair too
but she understands that I have to do
...what I have to do

We are both a helpless couple
caught in a world of double trouble
but I have told her no lies
she knows that and
comprehend this she tries

So now my love for her must suffice
That's all with her I can compromise
She's a part of me and I her
We WILL be together in the future
that my darling is for sure

Aww...another sad poem. It looks like a reply to the poem "An Ideal Life". This time it's the guy's story.
What he must be going through.

I feel that there is this tug of war of love between his children and his lover and he has to find a balance.
His sacrifice shows his love for his family but he must also think about his happiness. When his girls leave him, he'll be all alone. Who'll be there for him?

I can understand this protagonist's predicament. I have been there. Responsibilities have to be carried out but it's not fair to let your true love wait for long either.

It's so difficult to find someone who truly loves you unconditionally nowadays.

He has to work two jobs to finance his daughter's studies...why does he need a lover then? Why does he need to dream at all?

He is doomed as single parent to live his life alone because his responsibilities will never end. He has daughters. They will have to get married and so on and so on.

I don't think that he'll marry his lover. Poor woman.

We all have to make sacrifices as parents. However, we deserve to be happy too. We are human beings too.
Why shouldn't this man be happy with his lover? Why shouldn't he marry her? It's obvious that he loves her so much.
If he loves her very much, I am sure that he will find a way to marry her soon. Things will work out for him.
