I am so very sad. It is so difficult to lose weight. This is even so especially when you are approaching forty! About a week ago, I bought this interesting exercise equipment that guarantees fat and weight loss around your midsection in weeks. I was fascinated by the video that showed a model who seemed to enjoy sitting on the chair, lifting her hands up like a marathon runner and twisting her torso on it. All I had to do was sit on the equipment, (it looks like a sitting toilet) and the chair will twist from right to left and I had to twist my waist from the opposite direction. I couldn't wait to try it.
I read all the instructions and watched the exercise video repeatedly. When I finally started to twist my torso sitting on the chair, I realised that my ass was too big for the chair...my excess weight was spilling off the chair. Well, I thought to myself that the maximum weight load for this equipment is a hundred and twenty kilos and I am a few kilos less than that. I shouldn't have a problem with that, the model looked very comfortable and so should I! I thought.
I was already feeling uncomfortable sitting on the chair. I still persevered to lift my arms like I was trying to run and twist from the opposite direction of the chair. I felt like Humpty Dumpty who sat on the wall...and finally when I had to lift both my legs off the chair and twist my tummy(as what was shown on the video)....yes...Humpty Dumpty had a great fall and that was that.
I have not touched that equipment after that. I paid over a thousand ringgit for it. Hmm...BELIEVE me when I say that this WAIST TWISTER IS NOT PRACTICAL for OBESE people like me who are trying to lose weight. I decided to stick to my treadmill instead.
By the way, does anyone know where in Penang can I buy plus sized cotton track pants for me to use for my exercise sessions? Perhaps the manufacturers assume that people like us do not and will not exercise and so they don't manufacture plus sized exercise clothes? I window shopped for some exercise wear and found out that there is nothing bigger than an XL size!! I can't even dream about wearing spandex! So, so sad, so very sad.

Sympathise with your predicament. Hope the equipment comes with a money-back guarantee or at least you bought it from a reputable store which may be willing to take it back in exchange for something else. If that fails, lodge a complaint with the small claims court - at least get some money back.
My dear spidey,
Good intentions but unfortunately the wrong way of goin'about things. All these so-called miracle equipments are definitely not effective for anybody who's looking to lose a significant amount of weight. However, you guys (pleasantly plump people;-)) are the very people who actually get suckered into buying these equipment. The reason for this is very simple. You guys are just too lazy to consult the right people and do the right things. Instead, you would rather spend ridiculous amounts of $ for 'quick fixes' that in actual fact doesnt actually fix anything.
Obesity is not as staight forward a disease as some would think. One can go into the molecular chemistry of energy generation and expenditure to explain this but there's a lot more to obesity than ATP and PPAR. The aetiology of obesity is one big, huge chapter in my books. The secret to treating this disease is to determine it's root cause. The treatment and intervention meaures are to be 'tailor-made' for different obese individuals.
Although dietary modification is indeed very important in weight management, I do believe that it is exercise and not diet that is the most important determinant in a sustainable weight loss program.
Maybe you should consult r.pemkumar and see what he can do for you Spidey.
Later, allegater:-)
